| On one fine holiday, I decided to gave my long "lost" Blogger blog a whip up.
The whip up ended up as a full scale replication of my Xanga blog.
Then I was unsatisfied with the post editor, but this i whipped up too (a bit).

|  Although Windows XP SP3 was available for more than a week already, Microsoft took their time to make it available on Windows Update.
SP3 doesn't bring any changes at all on the surface, just mostly fixes that you'd have installed already if you've consistently update XP.
The worst part of updating to SP3 is...
it was a very very long process.
It took a few hours to download, backup (the installer's own backup of important system files) and install.
So luckily i did it when I was about going to sleep (periodically wake up a bit to check on the status).

| Dell finally put some style into their mainstream Inspiron notebooks, which look fugly currently. I bet a lot of new owners who just got them from PC Fair will be crying now...
Their new designs look really good (for a mainstream) IMHO, which took design cues from Dell's own XPS (premium high/top end) notebook.

Designs taken from their XPS line :
- Sloping design (seen clearly from the right side)
- Slot loading drive (yeah, like MacBook) (as seen on the right side view)
- The barrel hinge (holding the LCD, steadier than those old type)
- Capacitive multimedia buttons at the top row (these are touch sensitive buttons, not your normal "click" buttons)
As mentioned in the 2nd image below, "bringing elements of Dell's premium XPS lineup", this puts Inspiron's design almost on par with XPS... but there are new additions that are NOT available even to XPS (for now)... which are mentioned by me after the image.
"Backlit keyboard option"!!! (yes, like MacBook). Dell better bring this to their XPS line too, SOON. But one bad thing about backlits is, the spacing between the keys changed. If you've tried Zhihao's MacBook, you'll feel that it's rather uncomfortable at first (or is it just me?), and need some getting used to.
"Flush glass edge-to-edge display option" looks like a really high end upgrade. What you'd see after the upgrade is in the 1st image, no plastic edges on the LCD. Makes your notebook look cool and expensive ofcoz.
Release dates already mentioned in the 2nd image (it's freakin easy to know which Dell model is what inch),
- 1435 delay till October
- 1535 May 26th
- 1735 June 9th
Rather surprised that they have the redesign readied so fast. But it's sad to see the 14" one delayed till... OCTOBER!!? That's too far away. Seems like they haven't got the stuffs readied for smaller screens, grrr.
So... even Dell's mainstream Inspiron design is almost like XPS now, does this mean that their already sexy XPS is due for a redesign??? I think so. And better make it quick.
